Time to Fly Race

This morning Colin ran in the Time to Fly kid's race which raises money to support Children's Cancer Research. Cousins Laura and Karl also ran and they all did great! Even though it was supposed to be a 1K (roughly 1/2 mile) we all agreed it must have been a 1 MILE as the course was quite long. Colin ran the entire time and Jason said he would get bursts of speed when the crowd cheered him on. At the end all the kids received medals and a prize from the prize table--Colin chose the Spider Man kite.

Earlier in the morning, Jason, Angie, Deborah, and Mike ran the 5K race. The rain stopped long enough for us to get our race in, and it was a beautiful flat scenic course along the Mississippi River. My sister Deborah, and brother Mike set and maintained a great pace and with a strong "kick" at the end my sister beat me by 5 seconds. I must admit it was tougher than I was expecting and I'm not as good of shape as I thought. I guess it takes longer to get in shape once you hit 30. :)

7 Month Update

It's hard to believe that June is almost done and our Justin is 7 months old. Some of the highlights this past month include:

  • 2 new bottom teeth--we have been waiting for these choppers to pop through and they finally both broke through within a day of each other this past weekend.

  • Rocking on hands and knees and scooting himself backward. It is very cute to watch as he is working so hard to propel himself forward. He gets up on tiptoes and it is clear it won't be long til he's crawling. So much for my stationary boy this summer. :)

  • Unfortunately Justin has also gotten his 3rd ear infection. He is dealing with teething and the infection quite well as he is still so happy and sleeping through the night.

  • He is such a good eater--we have yet to find a food he doesn't like (or even make a questionable face at). He eagerly eats meats, vegetables, fruits, and even banana puffs. He is able to pick them up and with his constant drool we find them stuck all over his body, yummy.

  • It is fun to watch Justin always looking and watching for Colin as he is constantly laughing at his brother's craziness.

    Mitch & Jen Wedding

Jason's cousin Mitch got married back in ND this past weekend. We got to spend quality time with Grandpa and Grandma and to see the 3 Great Grandparents. At the wedding reception Colin boogied on the dance floor until almost midnight. It was so fun to see all the kids of Jason's cousins. Colin's favorite dance partner was one of the flower girls, Lilly, because "she had a pretty dress."

    6 Month Photoshoot

We had Justin's 6 month pictures a few weeks back and got the digital copies back so we thought we would share a few. Jason's co-workers wife came out to our house and even though it was cold that day (low 50's) Lois and the boys did great. Here is a sneak peak and click here to see more.

    Como Town

Today we went to Como Town, an amusement park for kids next to the Como Zoo in St. Paul. Colin loved all the rides and even more so the faster and higher they went. We went on a couple rides that really whipped us around and he thought they were the best ones. He even won Justin a stuffed tiger at the "Feed the Frogs" game.

    Softball

Yea, softball season has started and the boys and I have already been to 3 of Jason's games. Jason plays on Thursday nights and the past few weeks we have had perfect weather--warm temps, light breeze, and no bugs! GO DADDY!

Justin loves being outside and taking in all the action
