Super, Happy, Fun Day

Today was a jam packed day of fun. We started out the morning running in the Time to Fly runs that benefit Children's Cancer Research. We met the Meisnners at Harriet Island in St Paul and everyone had great runs today. It was quite warm and humid, but Jason and Deborah had an awesome 5K with Jason setting the pace to enable Deborah to set a new PR by over a minute! Laura, Karl, and Colin all ran in the kids fun run. Colin is so fun to cheer for because as soon as he sees you he gets a burst of speed and this look of sheer determination.

After the race, Laura and Karl came over to our house for a sleepover. Colin was so excited and eagerly picked up his toys the night before to make room for his guests. After lunch we took advantage of the warm sunny weather and played outside on a slip in slide. The kids had great fun creating unique and daring tricks.

Later in the afternoon we headed to Tropical Island Adventure which is a play area of slides and tunnels.

After a McDonald's supper, we took an evening walk to visit our friends the ducks at the nearby pond to feed them bread. The day ended with bowls of ice cream and movie time on the couch.

We'll have to see how well these three sleep together in the same room, Laura in the bed and the boys in air mattresses on the floor. Our guess is they are tuckered out and will have no problem falling asleep. I know we will sleep well. :)

World Cup - Colin

So after a few practices with his new team, the Ravens, Colin had his debut soccer game tonight. And what a debut it was! He waited patiently watching his team get out to an early lead. When it was his groups turn, he was aggressive and got right after the ball. We couldn't have been more proud of his performance. His persistence and speed resulted in some exciting breakaways as he dribbled the ball down the field. His first breakaway resulted in a shot off the goal post, so close. But the next shot was GOOOOOAAAAL Colin!!! He scored 2 goals in his first game! Not sure who was more excited, we were all jumping and yelling and Colin celebrated with a classic fist pump and high 5's for all. This is going to be a very fun season. Go Ravens!
