One Year Review

It is the final bear update as our Justin has turned 1! Two more teeth started popping up but these molars have been a bit more painful. Another ear infection has developed and we now have an appointment set up with the ENT and will more than likely get tubes. Justin is slowly starting to eat some table foods including breads and birthday cake :) but he still has more fun squishing the pieces of vegetables and fruits in his hands than eating them. The most exciting update is that he has started walking! Our baby is officially a toddler!

Thank you for an amazing past year, Justin! It's hard to believe our 9 1/2 lb newborn is now a 20lb toddler! It has been so much fun watching you grow. We have especially enjoyed all those hugs and the way you cuddle into our shoulder. You are such a snuggle boy! Those ear infections have been a problem but we'll get those resolved soon.

Some highlights from the past year include:
  • Rolling onto his back at 2 months and both ways by 6 months
  • Sitting around 6 months
  • First tooth at 7 months
  • Crawling at 7 1/2 months
  • Walking at 1 year

You love playing with all types of balls and especially love playing with your big brother, Colin. The two of you are such adorable brothers. We love you both so much!

    Birthday Party

Justin had a fabulous and very memorable 1st birthday! We started the day watching cousin Tabor and his Raider football team advance to the State Championship with a very exciting win at the dome. Then it was back to our house for a yummy lunch with family. It was a beautiful day and Colin had lots of fun playing outside with his cousins Luke, Laura, Karl, and Damon. Justin was a bit tentative at first when he saw his birthday cake but eventually dug in and polished it off. He was a very cute and messy birthday boy. :) Thanks for all of the wonderful gifts as both Justin and Colin are having fun playing with all the great new toys.

    Go Raiders!

    Not sure about this cake

So good...so full...OK, just one more bite

    MOA Day O' Fun

Jason had the day off for Veteran's day so we decided to a family day o' fun at the Mall of America! The adventures started at Underwater World where the boys got to experience all kids of fun sea life--our favorites being the sharks, sting rays, and turtles. It was very cute because even Justin was intrigued and intently studied the marine life. Then it was off to Lego Land where Colin spent most of his time racing lego cars down a runway. Justin got to fine tune those pincer grasps as he picked up the millions of tiny lego pieces. We had an amazing lunch at the Rain Forest Cafe and finished up the day with a ride on the roller coaster. It was a super fun day!

    Fall leaves

It was a fabulous weekend for playing outside! Jason did some raking and Colin had a blast making diving football catches into the massive pile of leaves. Justin was a bit unsure but eventually warmed up to the fun.

    Trick or Treat

    Nana nana nana nana...BATMAN!

    And his sidekick...LION!!

We had a fabulous Halloween! Colin had been counting down the days until Halloween! He has been so excited to be Batman and to go out and get candy! Justin is getting over a cold this past week so he stayed inside. Unfortunately, he passed the cold on to Jason so he stayed home to rest. Thankfully, Matt, Deborah, and Connie were up to the task of taking the kids out around the neighborhood. Colin came back with a huge bag of candy and has since been carrying it around with him even asking to sleep with his loot. The Meissners were excellent hosts and we also got to celebrate my Dad and Lamiae's birthdays. Hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday!
