HallZOOween!

This past weekend we went to the MN Zoo for some Fall fun with the animals. Our visit started with trick o' treating to various parts of the zoo for treats, stickers, and even a mini stuffed penguin. It was a gorgeous day so we walked up to scarecrow alley near the farm animals to check out the creative scarecrows on display. The zoo was another fun reason to wear our costumes. :)

Pumpkin Carving

The boys came up with some very fun ideas this year for pumpkin carving. The superhero theme continues with Superman becoming a favorite of Justin. Angry birds has crept into our lives this past year, and Colin chose the big red bomber for his pumpkin. For Adam, we decided Mickey Mouse would be quite fitting for this toddler as he loves to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in the morning to start his day. Jason executed the designs to perfection and continues to amaze me with his mad skills.

 

White Water State Park

Over MEA weekend we took the boys to White Water State Park near Rochester for some beautiful Fall hiking. It was a gorgeous day at a gorgeous state park. We thought it might be a bit cool to tent camp so we headed back into Rochester and stayed at the Ramada. MEA was a great combination of hiking and waterpark fun. :)

Boo Run Run

This morning we ran the Boo Run Run at Harriet Island in St. Paul. It was so cute as the kids got to dress up in their costumes and most of the adults also dressed up in fun garb. Colin and cousin Karl crushed the kids run taking 1st and 2nd place while Justin was equally awesome in true samurai fashion. :) The kids run was just a warm up for Karl as he paced Deborah and I in the 5K. A great run with lots of candy. Yay!

3rd Annual Family Football Classic

It was the best FFC to date! Mike and Lamiae hosted this year, and it couldn't have been more awesome. :) All of my siblings were able to come which we haven't all been together for 4 years. The weather was absolutely beautiful with perfect Fall temps around 60, sunny, and no wind. The kids had so much fun playing football and crushed the adults 35 to 21. We feasted on all of Lamiae's made from scratch food, and even Jason helped out on the grill. The Vikings did not play well but that just allowed us to get out on our hayride adventure that much sooner. It was quite the adventure as halfway along one of the front tires from Mike's antique tractors fell off. It actually was no big deal and we finished our hayride through the beautiful scenic woods without further hiccups. The afternoon finished with birthday cake as we celebrated Wyatt's 5th birthday. It was the most lovely of days.
