Waterpark Fun

We had an awesome time at Bunker Beach today! There are just so many fun things to do at this place! Justin was a lot more brave this year and enjoyed the lazy river and all the sprinklers at the kids pool. Colin, Karl, and Laura enjoyed the multiple water slides. Even Adam walked around the wade pool before taking his afternoon nap. Thanks for a fun time today, Meissners!

Summer Soccer, Baseball, & Football Camp

Summer weeknights were a bit busy as we had soccer on Monday/Wednesdays and baseball on Tuesday/Thursdays during the months of June and July. Soccer was on a much bigger field this year with older sports savvy kids. Not as many goals each game but Colin still scored the majority of the teams goals. It is so fun to see how determined and passionate he is when he plays sports. Even when he is supposed to be taking a break and resting, he is running up and down the field cheering on his team. :)

Baseball was fun as the kids got to hit from the coach pitching with only occasional need for the tee. Colin learned a lot this year about all the various rules in baseball. Again, it is so fun to see his constant hustle and focus on what he needs to do when the ball is hit while many of the other kids still seemed to get distracted easily. I will admit I'm glad we have a break in sports this month. The evenings got a bit hectic trying to eat and get three little boys in bed at a reasonable time. Whew! Justin and Adam enjoyed the games and Justin is more than excited to get his turn at soccer next Summer. :)


During the first week of August Colin also got to test out his football skills at a week long flag football camp. He loved it! For 3 hours every afternoon he learned routes, drills, and scrimmaged with 17 other 1st - 5th graders.

Summer fun at Lake Johanna

We feel very blessed to live so close to such a fabulous beach. Lake Johanna has great swimming with a fun park all within a mile of our home. Awesome! Now that Summer baseball and soccer are over we also get to enjoy lots of supper picnics there as well. Arden Hills rocks!

Rookies Softball

Tonight was the final night of softball as Jason's softball team had a tournament to finish out the season. They played well but ended up losing and placed 4th overall in their league. Jason has played for the Rookies for over 14 years and in their hay day they were quite the team. It has been so much fun to watch these guys play Summer ball over the years. It has been even more fun getting to know them and watch as babies have been born and the kids grow up. In more recent years it has been getting difficult to get enough guys on the field each week as various commitments have come up with kids and work. The talk is that this is likely the last season for the Rookies. :( The boys and I loved going to the games and watching Jason crush the ball, make amazing running/diving catches and throw guys out at home. We are his biggest and most loyal fans and even the team has nicknamed us "#1 Fans!" Thanks for all the wonderful memories, Rookies!
