Wonderful Christmas!

It was another fabulous Christmas this year! There was so much good food, great time with family, and the boys received so many wonderful gifts! December 2010 was the snowiest month on record in MN and the weather cooperated nicely for us to get to Darin and Tamara's house on Christmas Eve.

Colin is a big believer in Santa this year and Santa did not disappoint this little boy. On Christmas morning he runs into our room (7:45a.m.--such a good sleeper!) and says, "I did not get coal! There are lots of presents under the tree!" Maybe we took a little advantage of Santa leading up to Christmas. :)

Later that day we had people over to our house for more feasting and family time. We feel so blessed and hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.

Yummy Christmas Baking

Once again the boys were wonderful baking helpers this year. We even made a gingerbread train masterpiece with lots of candy. We're thinking we need to get these boys some chef hats and aprons as mommy loves all the extra help!

Holidazzle

A wonderful winter snowstorm hit us this weekend dumping 15" of snow with blowing winds causing crazy drifting. The roof collapsed on the metrodome resulting in the Vikings game being postponed and relocated to Detroit. Now the temps are dropping with wind chills at -15!

Even with this chaos we decided to go to the Holidazzle parade but opted to stay inside watching the parade from the sky way. It was quite slick--we parked in a heated ramp and never had to go outside! We visited Macy's 8th floor display featuring "A Day in the Life of an Elf." We even got pictures with Santa! Justin was excited to see Santa but from a safe distance. In order to get a picture of him with Santa we had to do a family picture. The parade itself was still quite spectacular with all the brilliant colorful lighted floats. Holiday season is so much fun and we definitely will have a white Christmas :)

Colin's Birthday - Part 2

Yesterday, we had a birthday party for Colin at the Eagle's Nest. The Eagle's Nest is a fun play area with slides, tunnels, ball pits etc. It was very crazy and lots of fun. After a while of play time we headed to the party room for pizza, cake, and presents. Colin really enjoyed his party with great presents, family, and friends! :)

Holy 5 Years Old, Batman!

Happy Birthday, Colin! What a fun day we all had today! The morning started with opening gifts. The Batman toy was a huge success with various opponents being taken out all day long with shooting canons and guns.

Mid morning we went to the Wells Fargo ice rink in downtown St. Paul. Colin received brand new ice skates from Aunt Deborah and Uncle Matt for his birthday. It was his first time on ice and he was awesome! He was a bit timid at first but by the end he could make it across the rink all by himself! He was quite proud as were we!

This year the birthday cake request was for a seahorse. We don't know where this came from but the best we could find was a mini pan online. So, for his 5th birthday, Colin had 5 mini seahorses. :) We each got to decorate our own seahorse and it turned out to be the perfect serving size.

Happy Birthday! We love you, Colin!
