Easter Eggs

Only a week til Easter so today we thought we should color some eggs. Colin picked out a "Cars" theme package and was quite the pro this year teaching Justin the correct way to place the eggs in the dye. We were doing quite well but during the sticker portion we dropped a few eggs on the floor. It looks like Mommy will be having egg salad sandwiches for lunch this week. :)

San Antonio Vacation

We are back from sunny San Antonio. It was an amazing vacation and Mike and Lamiae were such wonderful hosts. We've known Lamiae almost ten years now and she still continues to amaze us with her cooking talents. All weekend long we ate the most delicious meals with my favorite being her seasoned fish but Justin would beg to differ as he ate bowlfuls of her homemade mac n cheese. Mike ordered up the most beautiful weather in the 80s every day and gave us the V.I.P. treatment. Here are some of the highlights from the trip.

Sea World is always a good time. We took in the sea lion, dolphin, and Shamu shows. There was a special kids play area and Colin loved climbing all around the ropes and tunnels. He rode a roller coaster and at the end we got close up action of them feeding the dolphins!



The weather really was perfect with warm sunny days all weekend. Mike kept the pool a nice 85-90 degrees and had all kinds of pool toys for the boys. Justin was a bit timid at first but eventually made it into the water. Colin loves the water and took full advantage of "Jump Rock." Even Max wanted in on the fun and would dive into the water after Colin.



We did the Riverwalk on a Sunday morning which worked out great. It wasn't too hot and there wasn't a ton of people out. We strolled along drinking our coffee and taking in the beautiful views along the San Antonio River. Prior to the walk we saw "African Adventure" at the Imax. It was especially neat as we viewed it in 3D with our fancy glasses.



Our final highlight was Malibu Castle. We played mini golf, bumper boats, and played some cool arcade games.

Partying like Corduroy

Back story: We put a calendar in Colin's room and we circle the dates with fun events. Then every night at bedtime we cross off the current day and we can have a count down to the next fun event. Half way through February I guess there wasn't any fun events marked so Colin decided to circle February 28th. He decided we were going to have a party and the guests were Mommy, Daddy, Colin and Justin. And the menu was to be cookies, donuts and punch just like his book where Corduroy had a Halloween party. For the next couple weeks he reminded us of the party of course we weren't going to turn down a chance for a party with donuts and cookies. The party was planned and executed by Colin even down to the table cloth, and to keep to the book plan he wanted a pumpkin table cloth but we could only promise potentially finding Easter egg table clothes. He settled on green and went shopping with Mommy to pick out all the party items.

And every good party has someone dancing on the table.

Mr. McGee & the Biting Flea

Today we went to the Children's Theatre and saw the performance Mr. McGee and the Biting Flea. It was a super cute performance of Pamela Allen's children's books. Colin enjoyed the show and Justin was also quite entertained and watched much of the play before we had to pull out fish crackers. :)

Happy Valentine's Day

It was the 2nd annual red valentine's day meal at the Elliott house today. This year we ate spaghetti, chocolate covered strawberries, and cherry layered dessert. It was magnifico! Happy Valentine's Day!

MN Zoo

We just love our MN Zoo. Even in the Winter there are fabulous exhibits to see indoors. Today we spent the morning visiting the marine life at the Aquatic Center and then viewed various birds at the Tropics. The boys always have a great time.

Tubing

With the holidays done it was time to start 2010 with some MN winter tubing. Being that we had such a great time at Elm Creek last year we decided to head back again. We met Connie, Luke, and the Meissner crew earlier today and had a blast on the hills.
