Adam is Walking!

He is 14 months old today and has definitely been taking some steps for the past couple weeks. It has been a more gradual process for him and he is by no means a full fledged walker. He still prefers his speed crawling but is realizing that bare knees on the floor isn't the most pleasant in the Summer. Another big milestone for our cutie pie! Good job, Adam!

MN Zoo-Dinosaurs!

Memorial Day was spent at the MN Zoo this year. We wanted to check out their new exhibit-Dinosaurs! They have a special section of the zoo trail sectioned off with 15 animatronic dinosaurs nestled in amongst the woods. It was very cool!

Variety Show

Last week Colin's kindergarten class put on a variety show. It went so well and was so cute! The class put on 3 small skits in which Colin was a part of two of them. They also sang two group patriotic songs at the end. Colin played a horse in "I Bought Me A Cat" and was one of the frogs in "Five Green and Speckled Frogs." In between skits kids were encouraged to do a solo act. Examples from the night included joke telling, singing, playing an instrument. When discussing the show Colin thought dancing would be fun to do. He practiced his moves every night at bedtime. On the big night he got out there and just rocked the stage! We were so proud and he had such a fun time!

Grossology

The current feature at the Minnesota Children's Museum is "Grossology- The (impolite)Science of the Human Body." We thought this would be perfect for our boys as they think bodily functions are so hilarious. We had a fun time and got lots of cute pictures.

1st Birthday Party

Yesterday we celebrated Adam's 1st birthday with our family, and it was a lot of fun! He received so many nice gifts and Justin was right there to lend a helping hand. Adam was quite the trooper as the afternoon went on but by the time we sang happy birthday he was a bit tired/cranky. By this time he wasn't very interested in his birthday cake. We washed those hands and and he took a nice 2 hour nap. He was apparently exhausted after his day of birthday fun.


Luckily, he did get a good cake experience on his actual birthday. He was a bit skeptical at first but then realized how messy and yummy cake can be.

One Year Review

This post is with some mixed emotion, this is our last bear picture because our last little baby is now a toddler! It really is amazing how fast that first year goes by. This past month a new bottom tooth has emerged with a total of 5 chompers now. Adam has been pulling himself up and standing so tall all month. Recently, he has been cruising along couches and walking behind his push toys really well, but not quite ready to be walking on his own. Unfortunately, he did get a virus with some pretty severe rash/blisters on his hands along with a double ear infection -- it was a rough week but we are all doing much better now. :) Adam had his first plane ride when we went to San Antonio, TX. He was awesome on the plane and slept most of the flight. The most exciting update is that his right kidney has developed perfectly, and we no longer need to see our pediatric urologist for further testing. Yay! Adam, you are such a sweet and happy boy. You give the biggest smiles and have the cutest giggles. When I pick you up I love how you immediately start to suck your thumb and then play with my hair like its your lovie. You have always been such a great sleeper. We just love all your babbles. You are always talking and showing us your toys and telling us such "important things." You are just so cute! Although, I will admit we need to work on not pulling peoples hair. It may be a good defense against your brothers, but you are getting strong and those pinches and pulls can hurt.

Highlights from this past year

• Rolling onto his stomach at 4 months and both ways at 6 months
• Sitting at 7 months
• 1st tooth at 8 months
• Crawling at 10 months
• Walking along furniture at 12 months
• 22 1bs 7 oz and 29 inches - 50th percentile for both weigth and height

It has been such a fun past year. We feel so blessed to have such a health, happy, adorable boy. We love you so much, Adam!
