Cascade River State Park

August 5-7th we went camping in the North Shore with two other fabulous families/friends. It was AWESOME! We had wonderful weather, gorgeous views, and the most delightful time together! This is the second year we have gone camping together and the plans for next year have already started. :) Highlights from the weekend include amazing hiking, everyone diving into icy cold Lake Superior, trip into Grand Marais, and hanging out by the campfire. We feel so blessed to have such great friends with awesome kids.

Trollhaugen

Yesterday we went with cousin Karl and Deborah to a very cool adventure park, Trollhaugen. The older boys and Jason got to do 6 different zip lines through cool wooded paths! They thought it was awesome! It was the first time they have done a zip line and they loved it!! Deborah and I took Justin and Adam on the ropes course. We were all harnessed up and after a mini training session we took to the trees! Justin and Deborah were very adventurous and went much higher up along various obstacles that ended with their own zip line. Adam and I went to different course geared for younger kids but also contained awesome challenges. It was a very fun afternoon!!

Valley Fair

We had an awesome time at Valley Fair yesterday!! It was a super hot sunny day so we thought it might be packed as it is both rides and a water park. I am glad to report we were wrong and most of the the lines were super short! We packed our day with lots of amazing thrill rides and water rides. Cousin Karl joined us on our adventure and even got to spend the night with us! Soak City was new to us as we were happy to cool ourselves in the wave pool, lazy river, and extreme body slides that entail drop floors! It was an awesome day!
