New Years 2011

Well, it was quite the interesting New Years this year. It was a typical morning of Colin and Justin chasing each other with the normal take down and tackling/wresting ("hugging") that these boys find so entertaining. This session, however, resulted in Justin sliding across the floor and landing in a precarious position. Later that afternoon we knew something may be serious when at the hotel (more coming on that in a bit) he said his arm hurt too much to swim. Jason, the awesome daddy that he is, takes a very resistant Justin to the ER. After 3 hours of quality time at Children's Hospital we learn that Justin has broken his collar bone. After Justin finally gave in to the the fact that we were staying at the doctors, he acted so  brave waited so patiently for his x-rays and cooperated so nicely when they fitted him for his sling. Thankfully, it wasn't a serious break and the bone should heal in only about a week. Justin has been such a rock star about wearing his sling to immobilize his arm. He is quite proud that he can do so much with only his left arm, and this tummy sleeper has been awesome about sleeping on his back. You are such a trooper, Justin and we are glad it wasn't anything more serious. You truly are a tough guy and can quickly adapt and roll with things.

While Jason and Justin were at Children's Hospital, Colin, Adam, and I started the New Years festivities with the Meissners at the Hilton Garden Inn. Surprisingly, there really weren't many in the pool so we got to enjoy some time in the pool before taking a pizza break for supper.

Jason and Justin were back after we finished up in the pool and joined us for a round of the board game, Sorry. The kids also came up with some very creative, funny Mad libs before settling down for a movie. When I say creative I mean a lot of stinky, poopy, toilet humor. :)

We expected the kids so fall asleep watching the movie as it was 10p.m. They appeared to be on the brink of sleep when all of the sudden they got their second wind and were bright eyed for the final count down to the new year.

The next morning we enjoyed more pool time and this time Adam and Justin joined in on the fun. After hotel check out we headed back to our house as it was only a few miles away and watched the final Vikings game of the season. These loyal fans were all Vikings excited and enjoyed the game even though it was another loss. 2011 was a very awesome year and we are very excited for 2012!
